I’m a long time fan and have followed you since you were Mama Scout. The book club is the perfect way to engage. I just placed a hold on the book. Thank you!
I read a lot and this is how I do it. I often read a non-fiction or poetry book in the morning after morning pages (sometimes 2 morning books). I usually have at least 1 or 2 fiction reads (easier ones) that are e-books so that I have a book readily available for unexpected wait times when I'm out running errands or shuttling kiddos.
I typically have an evening read as well (bedtime read), which is also usually fiction. And I'm trying to integrate essay reading time into my workday.
I would love to do a slow read of Orbital with you! I checked it out earlier this year and didn’t get to it. Thanks to Kortney for restacking your post.
I read Orbital at the beginning of the summer, but I'm a sucker for slow reads. I just put it on hold again, so I'll be a few weeks behind, but happily reading along.
I just read Death Comes for the Archbishop after a trip to Santa Fe that included a long morning spent in the Archbishop's garden. Cather is just so good.
You won't be far behind because we are reading s l o w..... I need to read Death Comes for the Archbishop. I am stuck on My Antonia. Did you read Antonia? If so, did you prefer one over the other?
Oh I LOVE Antonia! Death Comes for the Archbishop is episodic—not my favorite structure. I always like one character more than others and just want to hang out with them. Happened with Orbital too 😬 But Santa Fe was so fresh in my memory, Death Comes for the Archbishop was a wonderful read.

Your reading amount is always impressive to me!

So glad to have you here! Amys!
Looking forward to it!
I just put Orbital on hold at my library, too! I'm next in line, so it shouldn't be long!

I am going to find it on my shelf! I love episodic fiction!
Three cheers for deep shelves and knowing what you like!
